Dungeon with the beauty!

Dungeon of Srirangapattana (Mysore) is popularly known as “Colonel Bailey’s Dungeon” is located in small town of Srirangapattana. Colonel Bailey was a British officer who was captured by Tipu Sultan at the end of “Second Anglo-Mysore war” at 1780 by defeating the British forces. Surprising this is one of the “good looking prisons” with a arched structure everywhere. This is somewhat a underground prison and said to have connection to river Cauvery and had a facility to flood “whenever required”. Naturally Colonel Bailey died 1782 inside this prison after two years of captivity.

Its about 20 kms from Mysore and there are lot of other site-seeing places around this place.

Nearby attractions.

I love the organic look to these arches. It doesnโ€™t look like a prison at all.
