Mud field run (“Kesaru Gadde ota”) – a muddy fun!!

“Kesaru Gadde ota” or Mud field run is a social event in coastal regions of Karnataka (India). As the monsoon sets in with its full glory in the months of May, June and July, plans are already underway to take advantage of mud filled paddy fields as play grounds! There is no age or gender bar! Everyone is in for this once a year fest at each locality.  I am here by presenting one such event I was privileged to be part of.

It’s a full day energy filled activity, where various cultural and sport activities are arranged. As contrary to most of the open ground events where you are worried about the rain to spoil the fun, here people look forward for heavy rain during this event. Everyone want more mud and slush! There is not fear of getting wet, because your are already drenching wet!

Well this is how it all begins!
Little darlings!
Most enthusiastic…
Fall …. no problem!
Run.. run.. run..
Why should boys have all the fun?
Why shouldn’t mom’s have some fun?
And .. the power rangers!!
When you still have some energy left!
Happy Posers… why not?

Technical: Camera Canon 600D, 1/1600 secs, f 6.3, ISO 400, I had to take the camera in plastic bag and shoot it with in the bag! Yes there will be mud flying everywhere and have to be very careful.
